KLM Plans Daily 777-300ER Operation to Kuala Lumpur / Jakarta in W12

As per 30JAN12 GDS timetable and inventory display, KLM plans to operate Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on Amsterdam – Kuala Lumpur – Jakarta service on DAILY basis. The 777-300ER is scheduled to operate this service up to 5 times a week in Summer 2012 season.

Buddha Air Resumes International / India Service from March 2012

Nepal’s Buddha Air from 01MAR12 is relaunching International service (as well as India operation) with 4 weekly Kathmandu – Varanasi operation.
ATR42 to operate this service. The airline in January 2011 launched service to Lucknow and in late-August 2010 started service to Paro in Bhutan. These were later cancelled.

American Airlines starting 01JUN12 is cancelling New York JFK – Tokyo Narita route, on the same day as it resumes New York JFK – Tokyo Haneda service. Joint-venture partner JAL will continue to offer Tokyo Narita – New York JFK on daily basis.
AA in early-September 2011 suspended New York JFK – Tokyo Haneda service due to tough market condition. Prior to suspension, the it operated Daily to Tokyo Haneda and 6 weekly to Narita.

Gulf Air Boosts Saudi Arabia Service from March 2012

Gulf Air from 01MAR12 is expanding operation in Saudi Arabia, with Bahrain – Jeddah service increasing from 10 to 14 weekly and Bahrain – Riyadh increasing from 14 to 21 weekly.
With the service increase, Gulf Air becomes the only Asian as well as Arab carrier to operate 21 weekly flights to Riyadh, and 4th carrier operating 14 weekly to Jeddah.

As per 27JAN12 GDS timetable and inventory display, Virgin Atlantic’s initial operation changes for Winter 2012/13 season, effective 28OCT12, as follows.
Note the airline is selling 4 of its 19 Airbus A340-600 aircraft, which will be removed from service by Oct 2012. The sale is to be handled by Airbus. Changes listed below already appeared in the GDS as early as late-Dec 2011, but Airline Route was unable to determine whether it was related to the sale of A340-600 aircraft.

Germain regional carrier OLT plans to start Dresden – Zurich service from 01FEB12, with 3 Daily flights on weekdays, and 1 flight only on Sunday. Reservation is currently not available for the moment.
Saab 2000 aircraft operates this route. Note for the moment the airline is currently loading 1 flight per day on weekdays for flights on/after 25MAR12 in the timetable listing in Amadeus. In addition, there appears to be schedule discrepancies on return flight from Zurich, which shows 2 Daily flights.
