Air New Zealand from 23DEC12 to 27JAN12 is to offer 3 weekly service on Christchurch – Mount Cook – Queenstown operation, which operates with ATR72 turboprop aircraft.

JAL Plans San Diego and Helsinki Service in W12 with Boeing 787

JAL today (15FEB12) announced the plan to launch Tokyo Narita – San Diego and Tokyo Narita – Helsinki service, on board Boeing 787-8 aircraft.
San Diego is proposed to begin from Dec 2012 while Helsinki is to start from Mar 2013.

Air Mauritius to Cancel Service to 8 Destinations in 2012

As per 15FEB12 GDS timetable and inventory display, Air Mauritius is cancelling a number of destinations as part of its network restructuring.
From June 2012, service to Milan, Sydney and Melbourne are Cancelled. From Oct 2012, the airline will cancel Geneva, Frankfurt, Durban, Bangalore and Munich.

Condor Cancels Ft. Lauderdale Service in Winter 2012/13 Season

Condor in Winter 2012/13 season is cancelling Frankfurt – Ft. Lauderdale service, which operates twice a week during winter and three weekly during Summer.
Per airline’s Winter 2012/13 long-haul program, the airline is not offering service Florida. Las Vegas will be the remaining US destination served by the holiday carrier in Winter season.

KLM Plans Daily 777-300ER Operation to Kuala Lumpur / Jakarta in W12

Alitalia to Offer A330 Service to Toronto Oct – Dec 2012

As per 27JAN12 GDS timetable and inventory display, Alitalia from 20OCT12 to 15DEC12 is to operate Airbus A330-200 aircraft on Rome – Toronto service, replacing Boeing 767-300ER aircraft.
Operational frequencies varies from 4 to 6 weekly during this period.

Virgin Atlantic W12 Operation Changes as of 27JAN12

As per 27JAN12 GDS timetable and inventory display, Virgin Atlantic’s initial operation changes for Winter 2012/13 season, effective 28OCT12, as follows.
Note the airline is selling 4 of its 19 Airbus A340-600 aircraft, which will be removed from service by Oct 2012. The sale is to be handled by Airbus. Changes listed below already appeared in the GDS as early as late-Dec 2011, but Airline Route was unable to determine whether it was related to the sale of A340-600 aircraft.

THAI W12 Scandinavia Operation Changes

As per 26JAN12 GDS timetable display, THAI is adjusting operation to Scandinavia in Winter 2012/13 season.
Copenhagen service in Winter is to operate 9 weekly, compared to 10 weekly in W11. 2 of the 9 weekly flights operating as Bangkok – Copenhagen – Phuket. Stockholm service is to increase from Daily to 9 weekly, with 2 additional weekly flights operating Bangkok – Stockholm – Phuket pattern. This will be TG’s new NONSTOP connection from Stockholm to Phuket despite operating nonstop on one-way basis.

Correction: Emirates Boosts Capacity to Perth from NS12

Starting 25MAR12, Emirates is to increase capacity on Dubai – Perth route, with EK420/421 changes from Boeing 777-200LR to -300ER, on regular basis. The -300ER has been substituting -200LR on selected dates.
Previously this site reported that such changes in effect from 28OCT12, however this will begin from 25MAR12, as loaded in the GDS originally.

Condor to Start Siem Reap and Yangon Service in W12
Update at 2045GMT 19JAN12
Condor from November 2012 is launching service to Siem Reap in Cambodia, as well as Yangon in Myanmar. Service operates once a week, on board Boeing 767-300ER.
Both Siem Reap and Yangon service operates via Phuket on inbound, which the Thai resort destination in W12 will see 4 weekly service instead of 2.

Condor to Start Frankfurt – Rio de Janeiro: Brazil NW12 Operation Changes

Condor is continuing its Winter 2012/13 season service expansion, with the launch of 3 weekly Frankfurt – Rio de Janeiro service on board Boeing 767-300ER aircraft. Reservation is currently available in full-fare for the moment.
Meanwhile, Frankfurt – Salvador da Bahia service in NW12 will reduce from 2 to 1 weekly, while Frankfurt – Recife increases from 1 to 2 weekly.

JAL Opens Reservation for Boeing 787 Service to Singapore

As per 19JAN12 GDS inventory display, JAL has updated Tokyo – Singapore (Including both Haneda and Narita) operational aircraft to Boeing 787 for flights on/after 28OCT12. Seat Map is also now showing Boeing 787 configuration (C42Y144). Note planned Boeing 787 service to Singapore is scheduled to start September 2012, however exact dates is not confirmed at this moment.
As announced by the airline on 17JAN12, the airline is reinstating 2nd Daily Tokyo Narita – Singapore service, also from 28OCT12 as well. At time this post goes to press, 2nd Daily Narita – Singapore service (JL719/710) is also open for reservation.

Condor to Start Vienna – Varadero / Punta Cana Weekly Service in W12

Condor from 03NOV12 is starting service on Vienna – Varadero route, operating once a week. From 06NOV12, it’ll also begin Vienna – Punta Cana weekly flight.

Condor in Winter 2012/13 season is planning to operate 3 long-haul routes out of Munich, with service to Cancun, Punta Cana, Puerto Plata and Varadero.
Service to be operated by Thomas Cook Airlines’ Boeing 767 aircraft.
