As per 06MAR12 GDS timetable and inventory display, Singapore Airlines remains on track to reduce Singapore – Munich – Manchester service from Daily to 6 weekly from 25MAR12. However, the airline will maintain Daily service from 06JUN12 to 20SEP12 for the peak season travel.
Previously the Star Alliance member planned to operate 6 weekly flights for entire Summer season.

Star Alliance member Singapore Airlines is scheduling FINAL Boeing 747-400 operation on 06APR12, where the carrier is to operate Singapore – Hong Kong service. The airline began Boeing 747 service in 1973.
The FINAL Boeing 747 flight is also marketed as a package tour, which include land packages in Singapore and/or Hong Kong. Passengers booking on First Class will also gain access for behind the scene tour at SQ’s cabin crew training facilities and well as flight simulator and SATS Catering Centre tour.

Singapore Airlines has announced the launch of codeshare service with Virgin Australia. Initially the codeshare agreement sees Singapore Airlines’ “SQ” code appearing on selected domestic routes operated by Virgin Australia.

As per 31JAN12 GDS timetable and inventory display, Singapore Airlines has adjusted Singapore – Adelaide operation from July 2012, when it increases the service from Daily to 10 weekly. The extra 3 weekly flights sees operational day changes.
Further, the Star Alliance member has update operational schedule for Singapore – Melbourne route, which will sees departure from Singapore on SQ237 moving 50 minutes earlier, which leaves 70 minutes of turn around time in MEL, instead of 15.

As per 23JAN12 GDS timetable and inventory display, it appears that Singapore Airlines is still displaying minor discrepancies for its Singapore – Melbourne operational schedule, effective 25MAR12.
SQ237/238, operated by Boeing 777-300, currently still showing 15-minute turn-around time at Melbourne. This was noticed by several readers and been discussed on some aviation forums. Such “error” was loaded on the week of 05JAN12, when the Star Alliance member switched 777-300 operation from SQ228 to SQ238 from 26MAR12 (Reported on 05JAN12), as A380 is returning to Melbourne operation.

As per 05JAN12 GDS timetable and inventory display, Singapore Airlines from 25MAR12 once again is to operate Airbus A380 aircraft on Singapore – Melbourne service. (MEL departure eff 26MAR12)
The A380 flight to Melbourne was to scheduled to end from 15JAN12 until further notice, however, routine schedule update on 05JAN12 is showing the return of A380 service from 25MAR12. The A380 is to operate flight SQ227/228, replacing Boeing 747-400/777-300.

As per 26OCT11 GDS inventory display, Singapore Airlines has adjusted planned Northern Summer 2012 operation (effective 25MAR12) for Singapore – Melbourne service, which shows no-sign of the return of Airbus A380 service. Last A380 service to Melbourne is scheduled 14JAN12 from SIN, 15JAN12 from MEL.
Based on display, the airline’s final Boeing 747-400 service is tentatively scheduled for 25MAR12 MEL SIN SQ238 service.
