Virgin Atlantic to Start A330 Service to Chicago from Sep 2012

Virgin Atlantic from 09SEP12 is introducing 3-class Airbus A330-300 aircraft on London Heathrow – Chicago service, replacing Airbus A340-600 aircraft. The A330 will operate on until 14OCT12. Chicago is the 3rd VS 3-class A330-300 route, despite only operating for one month.

The airline is expected to make announcement regarding its latest inflight product on 3-class A330 soon.

Virgin Atlantic to Launch 3-class A330-300 Service to New York JFK / Delhi in S12

As per 05APR12 GDS timetable and inventory display, Virgin Atlantic starting late-April 2012 will introduce First 3-class Airbus A330-300 aircraft (equipped with Upper Class) to scheduled operation.

Virgin Atlantic to Resume Mumbai Service in W12

Virgin Atlantic on Thursday (15MAR12) has announced service resumption of London Heathrow – Mumbai service, after 3.5 years of suspension. Mumbai service is to be operated by Airbus A330-300 aircraft, becoming the first destination (based on current planning) to see Virgin A330 aircraft with Upper Class service.

Virgin Atlantic S12 San Francisco Schedule Change; Opens Vancouver Service Reservation

As per 17NOV11 GDS timetable and inventory display, Virgin Atlantic today opens reservation for the new London Heathrow – Vancouver 5 weekly service, due to start 24MAY12. Also, additional London Heathrow – San Francisco flights, due to start from 26MAR12, is also open for reservation today. Both of these new flights were previously reported on 08NOV11 on this site.

Accompanied by the service increase to San Francisco, Virgin Atlantic is moving operational schedule for VS019/020 by 3 hours earlier.

Virgin Atlantic Boosting San Francisco Service and to Launch Vancouver Flight in S12

Virgin Atlantic on Monday (07NOV11) announced it’ll be boosting London Heathrow – San Francisco service from Daily to 10 weekly from 26MAR12 and will launch London Heathrow – Vancouver service starting 26MAY12.

New flights/routes are currently not available for reservation as they are not yet loaded in VS’ system, at time this post goes to press. Reservation should open within weeks.

Virgin Atlantic Tokyo Service Reduction in W11

Virgin Atlantic from 29NOV11 to 19DEC11 and from 22FEB12 to 05MAR12 is temporary reducing London Heathrow – Tokyo Narita service from Daily to 6 weekly. Mondays departure from LHR and Tuesdays from NRT is Cancelled in Nov/Dec 2011 period. In Feb/Mar 2012 period, Tuesdays from LHR and Wednesdays from NRT is Cancelled.

Further, the airline during the Winter season will also cancel service on SELECTED DATES.
